How to Address Your Wedding Invitations

You’re almost ready to send out your invitations to all your family and friends! It is very easy to overlook the envelope component of your invitations, but did you know that the way you address them can really say a lot about the tone of your Wedding? It is best etiquette to have your envelopes professionally addressed in typography or calligraphy by a stationery designer, or hand written by yourself. Printing addresses on labels is frowned upon in the Wedding invitation industry.

Here is a chart I have adapted from The Wedding Planners Institute of Canada to help you out and get you started. If you need any help with this, I am just an e-mail away!

Note:

• You do not have to invite a person + guest unless they have a significant other

• If you are inviting some children, you need to invite all children

• Never state “Adults Only”. Instead, fill their names out on the rsvp prior to sending out the invitations

• If you are unclear of a person’s correct last name or title, ask them. This shows your guests that you care about them, and it also makes them feel more welcome.
